Ravignan-Floc de Gascogne

$22.00 Net

Floc de Gascogne is a traditional aperitif of the Armagnac region. Recipe: 2/3rd grape must (juice), 1/3rd Armagnac. Drink it nicely chilled neat or half Floc/half sparkling water. Also tasty after dinner with a fresh fruit and fresh cheeses.

From Ravignan:

"Floc is the traditional drink of the region of Armagnac. It is born of a Gascon recipe in the seventeenth century. It is prepared annually after distillation, in January, by mixing grape must again a third water-de-vie of Armagnac. Regulated and controlled by a label, it is marketed the following year.

"Prized for its flowery flavors, it is served chilled, as an aperitif or dessert wine. At the dinner table, it will match surprisingly well with foie gras. Try freezing it (make a slushy), neat with a lemon zest, or even a dash of soda water."
