Heimann-Kekfrankos-"Alte Reben" Szekszard, Hungary-2013

"Alte Reben" Szekszard, Hungary

Kékfrankos is the grape. AKA Blaufränkisch (which we know and enjoy from Austria). From Szekszard in South-Central Hungary (Serbia is 50 miles south of here). These “Old Vines” were planted in 1969 (the family has been making wine since 1758). Concrete tank ferment and huge neutral barrel aged for one year. Shows deep, ripe blue and black berry fruits, black pepper and anise notes, balanced richness on the palate and acidity to elevate its flavors.
