"Casa Verde Vineyard" Mendocino County
Half ton of Colombard picked within a vineyard of 70 year old field blend red in Redwood Valley. (230 vines!)
Whole cluster pressed, tank ferment, aged on its lees in neutral French oak. Boasts “electric” acidity, Granny Smith apples, lemon zest, white peach and a leesy richness (think pie crust and roast cashews). A mighty fine oyster wine. 31 cases made.
From Alex MacGregor, owner/winemaker:
"Trinafour is a tiny village in the heart of Scotland, lying in the Perthshire Highlands. There, my Great Grandfather kept game at a small estate. My father was born a few miles away in the town of Perth. He suggested the name, knowing my love of the rugged, severe, lonely beauty of the area, and my fondness of all things game and their affinity with wines of concentration and nuance. He noted the link to an agrarian past, which he’d hoped would continue with at least one of his offspring. That charge has been left to me."
