"Alberigi" Russian River Valley
Dan Dawson's Notes:
Kirsch-y nose with sweet brown spices, caramel, bay leaf and anise. Rich, plump flavors: cola, raspberry puree, wild strawberries, vanilla bean, sweet Herbs de Provence. Hard not to drink it now…326 cases made.
This area is renowned for its sandy, loamy Goldridge soils, the type of soil coveted by top Pinot Noir producers in the zone. The vineyard is planted to Dijon clones 114, 115, and 777, and 20% whole clusters were used in the fermentation.
Winemaker's notes: Scarlet in color, nuanced Russian River Valley flavors of cola and ripe raspberry, sweet entry fuses an elegant body with refined finish. Drinking well now, but will cellar through at least 2016.
