"Papa's All Blacks"
North Coast


Zinfandel-based field blend (about 60% Zin) co-fermented with Petit Sirah, Carignane, Mourvedre, Grenache, Alicante Bouschet and others. 80-120 year old vines. Straight-forward, rich, spicy, juicy, and eager to please. Smell and taste blackberry pie, black pepper, cinnamon, cocoa, licorice. Medium body, smooth tannins. 850 cases made. 

"The "Mixed Black," or "All Black" vineyards, as they became known by grape growers and vintners starting in the 1880's, made the best, most flavorful wine for each particular growing location. All the grapes are always co-fermented." Kismet Wines
