From April 19, 2017 newsletter:
Our old friend David Mahaffey of Miss Olivia and young winemaker Kira Ballotta (follow her on Instagram) crafted this delicious blend of Chardonnay, Viognier and Chenin Blanc. David made more "Heron Lake" Chardonnay than he wanted to bottle in 2015, so the two of them blended in the aromatic grapes to make a fresh, fruity, vibrant, versatile white wine.
The Viognier and Chenin Blanc give the wine lemon zest, citrus blossom, fresh ginger and honeysuckle aromas. The depth and texture of Chardonnay in the mouth completes the experience. It's very light on the oak and sports perky acidity.
Taquine is the defiant, mischievous, flirtatious young lady dancing on the French Riviera. The back label tells the story (how's that for a sales ploy?)
