Cotes du Roussillon
40% Grenache (60 year old vines), 40% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre. Aged in concrete tank. Smoky berries, black pepper, licorice and black raspberries on the nose. Taste the earth, spice, kirsch and sweet summer berries. Medium body, soft tannins. Black truffle and umami on the finish.
Robert Parker: “Big, barbecue/smoky brisket-like nose intermixed with kirsch, lavender and pepper scents jumps from the glass. Complex, mid-weight, savory, mouth-filling red with soft, velvety tannins.” This cuvée is a partnership of Mr. Lafage in the Roussillon and wine importer Eric Solomon.
