Rather than the super steep slate vineyards of Mosel, the Rheinhessen is rolling hillsides of limestone. Dry Rieslings from the Rheinhessen can be excellent. This one, for example. Biodynamic farming, steel tank and neutral barrel elevage. Get tart green apples, apricots, flowers, melons. And texture! Has the body of Sauvignon Blanc. A great find for BRW.
From the importer: "The 100 Hills wines are harvested by hand, fermented naturally and matured in 50% stainless steel tanks and 50% large, neutral wooden casks. This combination retains the lively, bright fruit while bringing an extra dimension of texture from maturation in wood."
