Rhone-Style Red. 61% Syrah, 32% Grenache, 4% Counoise, 3% Mourvedre. Made/co-owned by Charles Thomas, whose Napa winemaking resume includes Lokoya, Quintessa, Rudd, Robert Mondavi and Opus One. He's one of the best, thoughtful, talented winemakers in Napa Valley.
Mt Veeder, hillside vineyard. Retasted this recently at the vineyard and it's absolutely singing. If you bought some already, open one now - you may want to buy more.If you haven't bought it yet, what are you waiting for?
Longtable "The Gathering" is a powerful red. Put it up against any Napa Cab for concentration and it'll do just fine. And it has more layers of flavor than the average Cabernet. It's just great. Boysenberries, bittersweet chocolate, cola, toasty oak, black olives and Marasca cherries smells & flavors. My "old" notes say "decant one hour and enjoy." While this is a good idea, it's not necessary. Straight from bottle, with a few swirls, it's a rock star. 115 cases made.
