"San Francesco"


Gattinara: far northern Piedmont region famous for their perfumed, Pinot-esque Nebbiolos. 50 year old vines growing in glacial Moraines (sedimentary) and volcanic ash.  “Let the vineyard do the work” winemaking: native yeasts, large neutral barrel aged. Get red currants, dried red cherries, aged leather, black tea leaves, violets. On the “delicate” side of Nebbiolo. Sort of ready to drink, but best to wait until 2020.
