Perfect example of a delicious Cabernet being under-valued because it doesn't say Napa on it. Aperture is a rich, dark, juicy Cabernet from our wineneighbor to the north, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County. Jammy berry character with pie spice, black licorice and cocoa undertones. Friendly tannins, and medium acidity make it a "big red" to enjoy anytime. 5% Malbec, 50% new French oak aged, 375 cases made.
About the label: Aperture is owned and made by Jesse Katz, a talented, young winemaker and the son of world-renowned photographer Andy Katz. The grape close-up shot on the front label is a nice twist.
