Chateau Pegau-Cotes du Rhone Villages-"Cuvee Setier"-2012

Chateau Pegau
Cotes du Rhone Villages
"Cuvee Setier"

60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre. Whole cluster, co-ferment. Tank-aged. 35 to 60 year old vines. Really drinks like Chateauneuf-du-Pape…dark, spicy, firm and brooding. Smell and taste dark strawberries, olive, black pepper, soy sauce, roast herbs de Provence. Nicely rich and “chewy.”

"Setier" was an ancient measure used for both grain and wine. In this case, the term refers to a stone vessel that hold 66 liters of wine.
