Solera started in 1997. Half Chard, half Pinot Noir. Aged/stored in tank (no oak influence), full ML. 30% of the solera is drawn off each year, and 30% new wine put in. 100% Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Sherry-esque developed quality jumps out on the nose, moving to an interplay of quince, preserved lemon, grapefruit, roast almond & light Oloroso Sherry smells & flavors. Wonderful Champagne for a relative bargain.
