Jason Pahlmeyer and team continue to make one of California’s most bold, unctuous and lip-smacking-good Merlots. Tasted January 2015: Smell and taste black cherry preserves, mocha, violets, caramel, boysenberries, cola.
Super-concentrated, velvety tannins, 30 second finish. Mostly Atlas Peak, and some Carneros, fruit. 7% Petit Verdot. 2% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Mr Parker: “Dense plum/ruby/ purple color, plenty of mocha, cherry jam and cassis…it’s top-flight. Very rich, it shows a broad spectrum of flavors and an expansive mouth-feel.”
